As the Arbaeen day of Imam Hussein (a.s.) approaches, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the Iraqi office, issued a statement to its missionaries in the country.

In its statement, this office considered the Arbaeen walk as a humane and universal path that has themes such as peace, kindness, mercy, compassion and giving, and the presence of millions of followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) in this path should be considered as an opportunity to introduce the Ashura culture to the Islamic Ummah.

In this statement, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the Iraqi office, stressed the need to say prayers at the beginning of time, the importance of observing hijab and chastity, spreading the culture of Velayat and Bera’at, observing conduct etiquette and leaving strife, addressing the culture of positive expectation expressing the dangers of Western cultural invasion through the Internet and satellite channels, expressing the most important doubts in the present era and responding to them, performing Hosseini rites in accordance with religious norms and the importance of expressing the position of Marjaiat as an extension of Imamate, emphasizing love and friendship between AhlulBayt (a.s.) followers, especially between the Iranian and Iraqi nations, and warning about the enemy’s plans for division between these two nations through social networks.

Other demands of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the Iraqi office, from the owners of the Mawakeb were: emphasis on providing the atmosphere of congregational prayer at the beginning of time, observance of hijab and prohibition of mixing, warning about unnecessary competition and emphasizing the spirit of patience, prevention of extravagance and waste, the importance of cleanliness as part of faith, having security sense and cooperation with the security system, and praising the heroism of the fighters of Al-Hashd Al-Shabi.

At the end of the statement, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the Iraqi office, called on the Iraqi government to include the Arbaeen pilgrimage in its agenda and to provide the necessary services on the Arbaeen walking pathway for pilgrims, including water, electricity, clinics and hospitals, and to provide appropriate media coverage of this walk.

Ashura Intl. Foundation Statement Condemning Attack on Hosseini Mourners in Pakistan, Nigeria

Ashura Intl. Foundation Statement Condemning Attack on Hosseini Mourners in Pakistan, Nigeria

In a statement, the Ashura International Foundation condemned the attack on Husseini mourners in the Pakistani city of Bahawalnagar and the Nigerian city of Sokoto on Ashura Day.

A part of this statement reads, “The Ashura International Foundation calls on the Pakistani and Nigerian authorities to arrest the perpetrators of this crime and punish them severely. It also calls on the two countries to protect mosques, Takayas and mourning processions during Muharram and Safar, and by taking security measures, to prevent terrorist operations.”

The statement is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The brutal and criminal attack by Wahhabi Takfiri terrorists on the mourning processions of the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussein (a.s.) in Bahawalnagar, Punjab, Pakistan, and the Nigerian military attack on Husseini mourners in Sokoto, Nigeria on Ashura, saddened the Islamic world and worried humanity.

These two heartbreaking tragedies - coinciding with the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (a.s.), his honorable family and companions - by the followers of Yazid in the present time, show the continuation of takfiri and sectarian ideas in these two countries, and at the same time, the vindictive cruelty of the agents of traitorous Wahhabism. By abusing these bloodthirsty takfiris, the enemies of Islam and their mercenaries have sought to destroy the atmosphere of unity and peace among Muslims, and this time, they were able to target the Islamic community in Pakistan and Nigeria.

Strongly condemning the two incidents, expressing condolences to the families of the Bahawalnagar and Sokoto martyrs and expressing solidarity with the injured in the two incidents, the Ashura International Foundation calls on the authorities of Pakistan and Nigeria to arrest the perpetrators of these crimes and punish them severely. The foundation also calls on the two countries to protect mosques, Takayas and mourning processions during the month of Muharram and Safar, and by taking security measures, prevent terrorist operations.

The foundation also calls on the international community and human rights organizations around the world not to remain silent in the face of repeated terrorist attacks against followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school in Pakistan and Nigeria, and to condemn these crimes, and also to take continuous measures against the perpetrators, organizers, financial and weapons supporters of these takfiri groups - as well as the anti-Islamic forces in the Nigerian army - and to take necessary preventive and legal measures.

Condoling the tragic martyrdom of the followers of AhlulBayt (a.s.) in Pakistan and Nigeria, and wishing immediate recovery for the injured in these two incidents, the Ashura International Foundation calls on God Almighty to always raise the banner of justice and anti-tyranny of Imam Hussain (a.s.) in the world and to disgrace the criminals in this world and the hereafter.

And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! (Ash-Shu'ara, 227)

This happy event, coinciding with the anniversary of the great event of Ghadir, the Eid of Imamate and Wilayah, added to the joy of us and the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.).

I deem it necessary to offer you my most sincere greetings from the bottom of my heart for your patience, perseverance and endurance because you sustained pain and hardships with all your strength; furthermore, you sacrificed your six beloved children for Islam and the Quran.

During these six years, prominent scholars and members of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly from different countries did whatever possible to let the world know about the oppression of the Nigerian Shiites and for your release.

Now, on behalf of myself and the honorable members of the council, I appreciate all those who worked for your release, especially scholars of different religions and denominations, lawyers, human rights organizations and those media active in this field.

Besides, the faithful women and devoted men who risked their lives and positions during all these years and called for your freedom with their continued public participation, and even being martyred in this way, deserve a lot of appreciation and gratefulness.

To thank God for your freedom, I prostrate before God Almighty, and once again congratulating the Muslim Ummah and the people of Nigeria, I pray to Heaven for an honorable long life for you and your esteemed spouse.

I hope that your life will be a good model for everyone in the communication of the truth and defence of the sanctity of the AhlulBayt (a.s.).

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Your Excellency, Hojat al-Islam Hajj Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky

Assalamu Alaykum

The news of your release and that of your honorable wife from prison, increased our joy and that of all free Muslims on the day of Eid Ghadir.

Your unlawful detention began in the days of grief and sorrow of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) in the month of Safar, and ended in the days of joy of Prophet’s family, and this is an inspiring coincidence for us.

During these six years, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly has made many legal, political, propagational, media and human rights efforts to defend you and the oppressed Nigerian Shiites. Because you have been “the symbol of peace, abiding law, and law”, the “messenger of the peaceful coexistence of the followers of religions” and the “defender of human rights and freedoms”.

Now, on behalf of the members of the Assembly around the world, I consider it necessary to express my gratitude to: the human rights activists and organizations that defended you, the team of lawyers, the judges who upheld your innocence in both courts, and above all, the loyal people who have risked their lives and security all these years and demanded your freedom by constantly attending peaceful rallies.

I also need to appreciate the clerics and followers of other religions who supported you alongside the Shiites. This experience is a good model for interaction between religions, and proximity between denominations for freedom, justice and spirituality.

I thank God Almighty, and while congratulating this auspicious event, I ask God for your health and permanence of your success and that of your honorable wife - the mother of six martyrs.

“What is with you must vanish: what is with Allah will endure. And We will certainly bestow, on those who patiently persevere, their reward according to the best of their actions.” (Quran al-Karim, Surah al An-Nahl, Verse: 96)
