Head of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Iraq’s Office, speaks of love between Iraqi, Iranian nations

Tuesday, 28 September 2021

Referring to the activities of Iraq’s Office of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, during the Arbaeen of this year, the head of the office said, “The activities of Iraq’s Office of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, in the Arbaeen ceremony days, can be divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical section, the office sent guidelines to the managers of the representations in the various provinces of Iraq. The AhlulBayt World Assembly has offices in 15 Iraqi provinces and is associated with 700 men and women missionaries in the country, from Mosul to Basra. Each of the missionaries has a Hosseiniyah or a mosque or a place for their activities and preaching. During the Covid-19 outbreak, they were propagating through virtual groups in cyberspace.”

“Some of the guidelines of the Iraqi office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly was related to the missionaries themselves and their duties in the Arbaeen ceremony. While some of them were related to pilgrims. In the final section, the guidelines addressed the religious, cultural, and political situation in Iraq, and necessary follow-ups in this regard were carried out by the missionaries of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly,” said Hojat al-Islam Pahlavanzadeh Behbahani in an interview with ABNA News Agency correspondent in Iraq.

At the beginning of Muharram, in a letter to Hojat al-Islam Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbalaei, the religious guardian of the holy shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.), we asked him to allocate places in the cities on the pilgrim roads leading to the city of Karbala to the Assembly of AhlulBayt (a.s.). With this request, it was agreed that the Assembly would have places on the Najaf-Karbala and the Baghdad-Karbala roads. In these places, cultural products such as brochures of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, books related to Hosseini Arbaeen, books of the late Ayatollah Asefi, and CDs of the International Ashura Foundation were distributed among the pilgrims,” he added.

“One of the activities of this assembly in the Arbaeen was to visit the Mawkebs in person. In this regard, I attended the Mawkeb of clergy sisters of the Qom Seminary entitled “Fatimid Women”. Iraq’s Office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly was involved in providing a suitable place for this Mawkeb. “Fatimid Women” Mawkeb had booths to teach painting to children. Also, correcting the recitation of Surah Al-Hamd and answering the religious questions for women were among the other parts of this Mawkeb,” said the head of Iraq’s Office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to the in-person visits to the Arbaeen Mawkebs.

“Also, on behalf of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, I visited the Mawkeb of Palestinian Ulama, entitled “Neda al-Aqsa”, located in pillar 833, on the way from Najaf to Karbala. During the visit, I expressed my satisfaction with the establishment of this Mawkeb to its organizers. The establishment of the Mawkeb of the Palestinian Ulama took place during the days of the conference on reconciliation with the Zionist regime in Erbil, which was attended by the Ba’athists and some tribal sheikhs. It was necessary to set up a Mawkeb from Palestine on the way to the shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.). Because, the pilgrim returning from the Arbaeen Walk must understand the message “No to Humiliation” of Imam Hussain (a.s.), and the path to the victory of Palestine, passes through the path of the AhlulBayt (a.s.),” he continued.

“Global arrogance, led by the United States and Israel, tried to bring the Shiites to their knees, especially in Iran and Iraq but failed. Then they brought ISIL, and said that it would take thirty years to get it out of Iraq! But the expulsion of ISIL from Iraq was possible in about two years with the fatwa of Ayatollah Sistani and the help of Martyr Soleimani. Then, they tried to divide Iranian and Iraqi nations, which they also failed. The love of the Iranian and Iraqi nations for each other is deep in their hearts. During the Arbaeen days, I witnessed Iraqi soldiers serving an Iranian veteran who had been wounded in the Iraq war. This is possible only with the love of Imam Hussain (a.s.),” Pahlavanzadeh Behbahani added.

“The pope’s visit to Iraq was supposed to be the second version of his trip to the UAE. Three months after the pope’s visit to the UAE, relations between Israel and the UAE were normalized. The outcome of the pope’s visit to Iraq was also to normalize relations between Iraq and Israel. But Grand Ayatollah Sistani’s response in defense of the oppressed nation of Palestine thwarted this plan. Condemnations of the Reconciliation Conference in Erbil also forced the KRG to reject it. Those who seek to normalize relations between Iraq and Israel should be told that it will never happen,” said the head of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of Iraq, referring to the global arrogance’s efforts to normalize relations between Iraq and Israel.

“During the last two years, especially last year, due to the absence of Iranian pilgrims, I witnessed the sorrow of Mawkeb owners and Iraqi pilgrims. Last year I saw Mawkeb owners waiting in the streets longingly to see an Iranian pilgrim. In Arbaeen last year, the Iraqi people formed groups and made pilgrimages on behalf of the Iranian people. We have also seen in recent days that some Iraqi Mawkebs were closing down in areas such as Diwaniyah and Shamiyah to Najaf. But upon hearing the arrival of the Iranian pilgrims, they were re-established to serve the Iranian pilgrims. God willing, this love between the Iranian and the Iraqi nations, which is due to the blessing of Imam Hussain (a.s.), will always remain,” he said, in response to a question on the opinion of the Iraqi people about the absence of Iranian pilgrims at the Arbaeen ceremony this year.

“Every pilgrim of Hosseini Arbaeen, from any language and nation, after returning from the Arbaeen pilgrimage, must carry Hosseini’s morality, dignity, culture, and courage. We are at a time when our enemies are united and ready to kill Muslims for dollars. Therefore, we should not submit to humiliation in the face of enemies,” Pahlavanzadeh Behbahani stated in the end on the desirable souvenir of a pilgrim from the Arbaeen pilgrimage ceremony.

In Muharram and Safar last year, the Foundation held 28 international webinars on various topics related to Ashura, with the participation of cultural figures and prominent scholars and figures of Sunnis, Christians, and religious minorities,” said Hassan Khakrand, in an interview with ABNA News Agency correspondent in Iraq, in response to a question on the activities of the International Ashura Foundation.

“In the webinars of Ashura International Foundation, topics such as Imam Hussain (a.s.) movement, philosophy of Ashura, the role of Hazrat Zainab (a.s.) after Ashura, and the role of Imam Sajjad (a.s.) and companions of Imam Hussain (a.s.) before and after Ashura, were explained with the participation of cultural figures and scholars. Institutions such as the United Ummah Center, the Iranian Cultural Counselor in Beirut, the Tehran Municipality, and the Imam al-Montazar Institute collaborated in holding these webinars. The webinars of the Ashura International Foundation have been well received in the media and cyberspace,” he added.

“This year, the Foundation has held eight webinars on topics such as the role of Hazrat Zainab (a.s.), the role of Imam Sajjad (a.s.), the Christian view of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and the Sunni view of Imam Hussein (a.s.),” said the Deputy for International Affairs of the Ashura International Foundation, on the webinars which have been held by the foundation.

“Activities of the International Ashura Foundation include the production of Ashura-related products such as lectures, books, articles, encyclopedias, art clips, music videos, and photographs. These products were prepared in the form of CDs, and before Muharram were sent by the Foundation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the Al-Mustafa International University, cultural consultations, and institutions operating abroad to be used in mosques, Hosseiniyahs and Heya’ts. The lectures and clips were selected and chosen by the Ashura International Foundation to have pure topics and away from exaggeration, distortion, and deviation,” Khakrand continued.

“Before the month of Muharram, by the order of Ayatollah Akhtari, the head of the International Ashura Foundation, the Foundation prepared Ashura guidelines for holding mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussain (a.s.), and after translating it into different languages, they were sent to all cultural and religious centers. In these guidelines, the issue of the Covid-19 outbreak was also considered so that these centers could convey the message of Imam Hussain (a.s.) to the people of the world, despite the limitations caused by the virus outbreak,” he added.

“Before Muharram, the Ashura International Foundation produced seven 30-minute clips, each containing 15 minutes of speeches by figures such as Ayatollah Ramazani, Ayatollah Akhtari, Ayatollah Araki, and Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qasem. In these artistic Ashura-related clips, the statements of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, the narrations of orientalists and various personalities about Imam Hussain (a.s.) were presented. In addition to being broadcast on Al- Thaqalayn TV, the Ashura International Foundation’s video clips on the month of Muharram were presented to the IRIB and the Islamic Radio and Television Union for broadcasting” said the Deputy for International Affairs of the Ashura International Foundation, referring to the video productions of the Foundation.

“The Ashura International Foundation also produced 12 two- to five-minute clips with Persian, Arabic, English, and Urdu subtitles. Before Muharram, Ayatollah Akhtari sent open letters to the muftis of the Islamic world, cultural figures, and scientific-cultural centers of the world. The subjects of these letters were the Ashura movement, the philosophy of the uprising of Imam Hussain (a.s.), and the introduction of the Ashura Foundation and its goals. In his letters, Ayatollah Akhtari asked these figures and institutions to cooperate in explaining the teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and the Ashura movement in the world,” he continued.

“The International Ashura Foundation has also prepared a draft memorandum of cooperation with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.). The draft mentions joint activities, including webinars, authoring, and research,” Khakrand added.

“On Arbaeen this year, Despite the existing restrictions, the Foundation printed banners in Arabic, and they were installed during the Arbaeen pilgrimage in Mawkebs, such as the Mawkeb of Imam Reza (a.s.) and the Mawkeb of “Neda al-Aqsa”. Also, the products of the International Ashura Foundation were prepared on CDs with the logo of the Foundation and were made available to pilgrims. The CDs contained products such as lectures, books, encyclopedias, and art clips,” he said, referring to the activities of the International Ashura Foundation during the Arbaeen pilgrimage this year.

“The movement of Imam Hussain (a.s.) is a heat that is always burning in the hearts. Enthusiasts of Imam Hussain (a.s.) always love to participate in the Arbaeen Walk. However, restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 outbreak led to strict regulations. while it was possible to facilitate the presence of pilgrims in the Arbaeen Walk, a walk that is unique in history. People were dissatisfied with these actions; measures that prevented Iranian pilgrims from participating in the Arbaeen pilgrimage with large crowds. I hope that this disease will disappear as soon as possible and next year we will see the enthusiastic presence of Iranians who love Imam Hussain (a.s.) in the Arbaeen Walk,” said the Deputy for International Affairs of the Ashura International Foundation, referring to the impact of restrictions due to the outbreak of Covid-19 on the presence of Iranian pilgrims at the Arbaeen ceremony.

“According to the mission of the International Ashura Foundation, the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Foundation call on the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran to pay more attention to the Foundation and provide the necessary funds for it to fulfill its mission. Ashura International Foundation can play a great role abroad but the shortcomings of this foundation must be compensated. We owe all our assets to Imam Hussain (a.s.) and the thoughts and ideas of the Infallible Imams (a.s.) and the school of AhlulBayt (a.s.). We must introduce this resuscitative school to global audiences outside of Iran through artistic and up-to-date methods. If these audiences understand the facts, they will learn the lesson of resistance and fighting oppression from Imam Hussain (a.s.) and they can consider Imam Hussain (a.s.) as their role model,” he mentioned.

Arbaeen, divine phenomenon managed by God: Ayatollah Ramazani

Arbaeen, divine phenomenon managed by God: Ayatollah Ramazani

The unveiling ceremony of the book “Arbaeen Photo Album” in Spanish was held in Qom on Thursday morning, September 23, 2021, with the presence of Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

In this ceremony, referring to the Holy Defense (8-year war imposed by Iraqi Ba'athists against Iran), Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “The Islamic Revolution has gone through golden eras, one of which was the holy defense. War was imposed on us, and for this reason, we consider defense sacred. We had to defend ourselves according to reason and religion, and we do not regret this defense.”

“The Holy Defense was full of bravery, struggle, and self-sacrifice. These virtues must always be vibrant in society so that we can resist tyranny,” he continued.

“The (Iranian) warriors voluntarily and sincerely participated in the Holy Defense. Love, intuition, and mysticism were visible at that time. True mysticism and mystic could be seen on the fronts. There were teenage warriors who had not even grown a beard, but prayed to God at night,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Today we can best follow the example of the Holy Defense. Today more than ever we need the courage of that time,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the need to model the holy defense.

“Islamic art is the art that promotes the teachings of Islam, and even maybe a non-Muslim can create religious art. For example, we see non-Muslim photographers participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage to capture this event,” he continued.

“Art has beauty, permanence, and influence. In the Holy Quran, we also see manifestations of art. The eloquence and rhetoric of the Holy Quran are two miracles of the holy book. Of course, the most comprehensive miracle of the Quran is the expression of knowledge related to human beings,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, considering art as a way to reach the truth.

“There are 300 verses in the Holy Quran about contemplation and thinking. Quranic verses have such deep meanings that some scholars and thinkers can talk for months about a single verse of the Holy Quran,” he added.

“God’s names are spread throughout the universe. For this reason, art is a divine gift to mankind. Art can have a great impact on society. Sometimes a wise poem easily conveys the facts to the audience and affects their mind,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the nature of art.

“Imam Ali (a.s.) stated the truths in the best and most beautiful way. Imam Sajjad (a.s.) also used the art of expression when he wanted to introduce himself,” he continued.

“Arbaeen has media, cultural and social dimensions. One should not look at Arbaeen from a single dimension. Arbaeen can be considered from different perspectives. So far, photographers have exhibited some of the Arbaeen facts by their works, and some of the Arbaeen photographs have become extremely lasting,” stated Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, saying that Arbaeen has various dimensions.

“Arbaeen is a global movement and artist photographers capture part of Arbaeen,” he said, referring to the characteristics of Arbaeen.

“Arbaeen is a divine phenomenon whose main management is in the hands of God and no one can claim to manage Arbaeen. Everyone who attends Arbaeen is impressed by its spirituality. God has taken over the management of Arbaeen with His saints,” pointed out the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
