The Ahlulbayt World Assembly has made efforts in the field of education both inside and outside Iran. The educational programs offered by the Assembly include the following:
1- Academic Official Education
This is done either through its affiliated center, the Ahlulbayt International University, or by granting scholarships to Shiah students for studying in other universities.
2- Applied Education
In order to revive Islamic knowledge and promote the culture of Ahlulbayt, the Ahlulbayt World Assembly endeavors to identify talented seminary students, clerics, and scholars of various countries, and provide them with required applied education.
3- Shiite Studies and Responding to Questions and Doubts
Similarly, with the aim of insuring the followers of Ahlulbayt against negative propaganda of the enemies of Islam, the Assembly organizes educational courses in various regionsfor Shiite Studies or teaching how to answer religious queries.
Such courses are normally held in the holy city of Qum as well as in the border and deprived areas. Teachers, seminary students, university students and the talented youth are among the participants in these classes to be acquainted with the principles of the Ahlulbayt school of thought and to insure themselves against the poisonous propaganda of the enemies.
4- Establishment of Chairs of Shiah Studies and Providing Research Sources
Due to the fact that many academic centers and elite scholars have turned their attention towards the Ahlulbayt’s school of thought in recent years, the Ahlulbayt World Assembly has succeeded to establish several Chairs of Shiah Studies in a number of universities worldwide. It also provides authentic sources for the professors and libraries of those universities.
5- Distant Education
This procedure is accomplished by means of CDs, DVDs, websites linked to the Ahlulbayt portal site and its Paltalk Room, and dispatch of educational pamphlets and textbooks.
The AhlulBayt International University
The Ahlulbayt International University is a non-governmental academic institution established in 1999 by the Ahlulbayt World Assembly. Its mission is to identify and admit non-Iranian Shiah students at M.A. and Ph.D. levels. In order to facilitate the entry of the alumni to university and cultural centers in their motherlands, the Ahlulbayt University awards formal certificates to the graduating students.
At present, this university grants admission to students in the following fields of study:
- History of Islam
- Private Law
- Penal Law and Criminology
- Islamic Theology
- Islamic Mysticism (Irfan)
Establishment of Faculty of International Relations is on the agenda of the center as well.
So far, the university has granted admission to tens of students from various countries such as Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, India, China, Bangladesh and Mali in the aforesaid faculties.
In order to make optimum use of cyberspace and new teaching methods, the Ahlulbayt University has launched the Department of Distant Education in Arabic, English and Farsi languages.

A number of schools and learning centers in several countries have been established by the Ahlulbayt World Assembly to educate the children and youngsters of families who are the followers of Ahlulbayt.
Cooperation with Other Universities
Besides its direct measures for education and training of new generation, the Ahlulbayt World Assembly takes advantage of capacities in other schools, universities and higher education centers for this purpose by equipping their libraries, introducing professors, and holding seminars and camps.
LIVE TEACHING PROGRAMS
Since 2006, the Ahlulbayt World Assembly has produced hundreds of hours of religious programs in Arabic and English at Paltalk Room for interested Muslims and followers of Ahlulbayt all over the world.
Professors in this section are renowned academic or religious figures in the field of training and Islamic science with Ph.D. and Ijtihad degrees.
The virtual classrooms have resulted in saving time and costs for both teachers and students by reducing the necessity for Tabligh trips.
Due to some requests by elite Shiites worldwide, an educational course in form of 'Single Course Online' is to be launched at the Paltalk Room of the Ahlulbayt World Assembly soon. In fact, the virtual classroom of the Ahlulbayt World Assembly has the capacity to be turned into a "virtual university".

Academic Supports/ Scholarships
With a view to the importance of training competent expertsfor development of scientific and spiritual infrastructures, the Ahlulbayt World Assembly has made efforts to grant scholarships, create educational opportunities, and sponsor university theses for non-Iranian students. Scholarships would be offered in fields of study that are not taught in the Ahlulbayt University.
Educational& Cultural Camps
Having holy shrines and valuable historical, cultural and religious attractions, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been the focus of attention by Muslims and religious people of the world so that a visit to this country is reckoned to be the aspiration of every Shiite Muslim.
Making the best use of this God-given opportunity, the Ahlulbayt World Assembly organizes camps for the followers of Ahlulbayt from various countries so that they can benefit from the spiritual atmosphere in Iran’s sacredpilgrimage sites and also take part in short-term educational courses. The professors at these educational courses are usually high-ranking scholars in Qum or Mashhad theological seminaries.
Thousands of Muslim brothers and sisters have participatedin these camps and become familiar with the teachings of the Holy Quran and Ahlulbayt (a.s.).
