Ta'zieh in correct form, narration has great emotional effects/ Using art to introduce school of Imam Hussain (a.s.) necessary: Ayatollah Ramazani
The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “In the Event of Ashura, holy goals and means, faithful companions and the peak of sacrifice are seen. Many pressures were exerted by the enemy forces and the followers of ignorance, and many events took place in Ashura. These concepts and events can be shown in Ta'zieh.”
On Thursday, July 28, 2022, the closing ceremony of the First International Ta'zieh Mourning Ceremony was held in Tehran Theater Complex with the presence of Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, head of the Ashura International Foundation, cultural officials of Tehran, and senior Ta'zieh performers. In this ceremony, Iranian and international Ta'zieh performers, as well as seniors of this art, were honored.
In this ceremony, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “I would like to thank Ayatollah Akhtari, who was very persistent that this artistic program be held in the best way, and that Ta'zieh be presented in reforming and reviving way. Also, I appreciate all the Ta'zieh groups from different countries who used performing arts to express the greatness of Ashura.”
Stating that Ashura is a sensory and intellectual miracle, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani added, “By studying this event, we can see its dimensions so that the existence of God, resurrection and facts can be understood in it. Ashura has huge dimensions and capacities, and many lessons can be learned from it.”
While pointing to the elegance and difficulty of artistic work, he added, “Depicting Ashura with art is very difficult and important. By addressing different dimensions of this event, in addition to benefitting from divine rewards, artists can introduce their artwork as a noble art in the world and show the Ashura uprising to the people of the world. Performing Ta'zieh in the correct form and narration had significant emotional effects in Germany and some countries, and it depicted the epic aspects of this event.”
“It is unlikely to depict the emotional and epic dimensions of Ashura without using art. Therefore, I would like to appreciate people who are active in this field. Today, by using the noble scientific and international literature, we should depict the facts of Ashura such as freedom, seeking justice, and fighting against oppression. By displaying and portraying these sublime concepts through appropriate words and expressions, we have done a great service to AhlulBayt (a.s.),” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, stressing the necessity of using art to introduce the school of Imam Hussain (a.s.).
“In the Event of Ashura, holy goals and means, faithful companions and the peak of sacrifice are seen. Many pressures were exerted by the enemy forces and the followers of ignorance, and many events took place in Ashura. These concepts and events can be shown in Ta'zieh,” he stated.
At the end, referring to the First International Ta'zieh Mourning Ceremony, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “This is the first time such a program has been held. I hope it will be held more widely in the coming years, and more artists from different nationalities will participate. Depicting comprehensive sanctions against Imam Hussain (a.s.), his family and companions; cruelties of the enemies, emotional pressures that were inflicted on captive women and children; putting on the heads of the martyrs on the top of the spears and parading them in front of the captives and the people; burning tents; killing a six-month-old baby (Ali Asghar); horse galloping over the bodies of martyrs; and other sufferings during the uprising of Imam Hussain (a.s.), make the audience to establish a deep connection with Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his school, and increase the love, knowledge, and harmony with the ideals of Imam Hussain (a.s.).”
