The President of Sanai Teacher Training Institute stated, “In addition to his political and jihadi activities, Ayatollah Asif Mohseni was a scholarly figure. He is well-known both in the Rijal field of study and in the thought field.”

On the Thursday morning, August 25, 2022, in the commemoration ceremony that was held on the third demise anniversary of Ayatollah Asif Mohseni titled the scientific conference “Approximation of Islamic denominations; theory to practice” in the Conference Hall of the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy, referring to the scientific status of Ayatollah Asif Mohseni, Dr. Zamen Ali Habibi stated, “In addition to his political and jihadi activities, Ayatollah Asif Mohseni was a scholarly figure. The credibility of a scholar is measured by the amount of reference to his works by other scholars and researchers. Ayatollah Asif Mohseni is well-known both in the Rijal field of study and in the thought field.”

“In the contemporary era, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and Ayatollah Borujerdi considered the issuance credibility as the basis for acceptance (of a hadith). Authoring the Masua al-Rijal (encyclopedia of the hadith narrators), Grand Ayatollah Khoei considered the credibility of the narrator as the basis for accepting the hadith or narration. In this regard, Ayatollah Asif Mohseni also had the opinion of the Grand Ayatollah Khoei that in order to accept a hadith, all of its narrators must be credible. The works of Ayatollah Asif Mohseni were based on this theory. He also authored a book on medical jurisprudence, and anyone writing in this field should refer to Ayatollah Asif Mohseni’s book,” he continued.

“Abu Hanifah had a close relationship with AhlulBayt (a.s.). He was a student of Imam Baqer (a.s.), Imam Sadeq (a.s.) and Martyr Zayd ibn Ali, and during the uprising of Martyr Zayd, he supported the uprising politically and financially. Abu Hanifah was one of the main supporters of Zayd’s uprising and his collaborator,” added the Professor of Kateb University.

“No matter how much the Umayyad and Abbasid governments tried to appoint Abu Hanifah as the grand judge or in charge of the treasury, he refused and was persecuted for this reason. Because of these stances, Abu Hanifah was exiled from Kufa to Medina and imprisoned,” Habibi said, referring to the life of Abu Hanifah.

“Many Sunni sources have stated that Abu Hanifah was a student of Imam Baqer (AS), Imam Sadeq (a.s.) and Martyr Zayd. The phrase “Lou la al-Sunntayn la halak...” is about Abu Hanifah’s time as student for Imam Sadeq (a.s.),” he continued.

“Contrary to the theory that the approximation (between Shia and Sunni) originated to the time of Grand Ayatollah Borujerdi, the origin of this topic goes back to the jurisprudence school of Medina and Imam Sadeq (a.s.) where the elders of the Sunnis learned from the AhlulBayt (a.s.),” stated the President of Sanai Teacher Training Institute.
