The Secretary of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “Imam Khomeini did not want anything from the Revolution for himself and his family. Rather, for him, the determining factor in all matters was God’s pleasure and service to the deprived. He considered the secret of victory in unity, and advised everyone to be united, and to serve the people without expectation.”

Imam Khomeini (r.a.) believed in people, considered himself their servant: Navab

On the 33rd anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) the great founder of the Islamic Revolution, a commemoration ceremony was held at University of Religions and Denominations, attended by professors, students, and staff of the University.

In his speech to the audience, referring to the services rendered after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Abolhassan Navab, the Secretary of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and the President of the University of Religions and Denominations, said, “Imam Khomeini was light, and the Revolution led by that old sage in Iran was also light. With his high spirit and divine soul, he turned darkness into light, and restored greatness to Islam and Iran, while illuminating a new hope in the hearts of the world’s oppressed.”

Hojat al-Islam Sayed Abolhassan Navab continued, “Imam Khomeini was genuinely sincere, and reached the status of annihilation before God. He believed in the people and considered himself as their servant. He advised the officials to “appreciate and serve this nation who has brought you to power after enduring many hardships. Be a cure for the pain of the suffering and the oppressed.”

“Our great Imam started everything by relying on God and strong faith in him. He was not afraid of anyone in defending the rights of the oppressed and the helpless of the world,” he stated.

“Imam Khomeini did not want anything from the Revolution for himself and his family. Rather, for him, the determining factor in all matters was God’s pleasure and service to the deprived. He considered the secret of victory in unity, and advised everyone to be united, and to serve the people without expectation,” noted the President of the University of Religions and Denominations.

“While standing firmly against domestic and foreign oppressors, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) was always humble in the face of the helpless and the deprived. In many cases, he sincerely apologized to the people for some of the negligence of the authorities at the time,” Navab added.

“We are all responsible for the Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and the Islamic Revolution. We should be good heirs to that insightful jurist and know him truly the word, and follow his path and purpose,” emphasized The Secretary of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Today, the rightful successor of that divine mystic is the Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei. He, who believes in “Without Khomeini, this (Islamic) Revolution is not known in anywhere of the world”, is continuing the path of the great Khomeini. All those who love Imam Khomeini and the Islamic Revolution, leaving aside pride and selfishness, must obey the orders of the insightful Leader of the Revolution,” he said.

“For the country and the homeland to progress, we must avoid factionalism. We must prove our commitment to this path of enlightenment by our behavior and actions, and wherever we went astray and failed, we must bravely apologize to the honorable people of Iran and ask them for forgiveness,” Navab added.

“In many cases, the honorable Iranian nation have proven that resist hardships. Imam Khomeini (r.a.) knew these people well, so that in his divine-political will he explicitly argued, “I confidently claim that the people of Iran, and its mass of millions in the present age, are superior to the people of Hejaz in the time of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), and the people of Kufa and Iraq in the time of Imam Ali (a.s.) and Imam Hussain (a.s.).” The people also knew the late Imam well, and while pledging allegiance to that pious jurist, they sacrificed all their possession for the progress of Islam and the Revolution,” stated the President of the University of Religions and Denominations.

“The Iranian people successfully passed those difficult divine tests. Now, it is our turn as officials to fulfill our Islamic and revolutionary duty by serving the people, and properly fulfill our duty before God and the people by observing the orders of the two Imams of the Revolution,” said the seminary and university professor.
