Islam, herald of pure life for women: José Colin
The specialized session “Demands from the West and the Chaste Life of Iranian and Western Muslim Women” was held with the theme “Breeze of Purity” with the participation of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
ABWA Official Website – On Sunday morning, July 16, 2023, the specialized session “Demands from the West and the Chaste Life of Iranian and Western Muslim Women” was held with the theme “Breeze of Purity” with the participation of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
In this session, about the consequences of not wearing the hijab, Ms. Ino José Colin, a Mexican lady who recently converted to Islam, stated, “I was Catholic, and I experienced not wearing the hijab. Today, some women say that they want freedom and would like not to wear hijab. It would be good to talk to them and say that the first step is avoiding hijab, the second step is shamelessness, the third step is being indifference, and the fourth step is impudence. I have felt and experienced these myself.”
“Day by day, women’s security is decreasing, and this is happening more in Latin American countries,” she added, “The most cases of femicide occur in Brazil, followed by Mexico, Honduras, Argentina, and Colombia. According to published statistics, women in these countries are killed by a family member, neighbor, or a stranger.”
About her experience of living in Iran, she said, “I had three children in Mexico. I said to myself that I want to go to a country so that my children can live a pure and healthy life. Therefore, I chose Iran. In Iran, women enjoy security a lot.”
“Nobleness of Iranian women should be prevented from changing,” she added, “Islam means a healthy life, and hijab means chastity and respect for women. Women are the source of family upbringing.”
“In Mexico, which is not a Muslim country, there is a common saying that “you have modesty as much as you cover yourself”,” she said about the importance of women’s clothing.
It is worth mentioning that the program will be held at the same time as the anniversary of the Goharshad incident, and the week of “Chastity and Hijab” in person and virtually, with the cooperation of the Sisters Branch of Basij of Lawyers Organization, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and Lady Amin Cultural Center.
