In a meeting with a group of clerics from Gilan, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “Gilani youths are logical and reasoning, and this issue should be considered when interacting with them. Young people are the future generation of society, and they should be educated and trained. Pay attention to the environment in which a young person is raised and speak accordingly.”

ABWA Official Website – On Thursday, July 13, 2023, a group of clerics and clerics of Gilan province met with Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

In this meeting, while expressing appreciation for the preaching and propagation activities of the clergy and clerics of Gilan, Ayatollah Ramazani stated, “Enlightenment jihad requires courage, and knowing the main mission of missionaries is of great importance in the current era. The Supreme Leader of the Revolution, in his meeting yesterday with clerics of the seminary, pointed out some points regarding propagation and emphasized knowing the audience and familiarity with their language. Knowing the audience must be in the true sense of the word, and if there is no fit between the content and the audience, propagation will not be effective. Familiarity with the language of each group means cultural and literary affinity with the audience, and it is different from the spoken language of the people. Maybe a person speaks the same language as his audience, but he is not aware of their culture and mentality.”

While pointing to the vast capacity of Gilan province in propagation, he said, “Gilani youths are logical and reasoning, and this issue should be considered when interacting with them. Young people are the future generation of society, and they should be educated and trained. Pay attention to the environment in which a young person is raised and speak accordingly. Sometimes obvious issues for you are theoretical matters for the audience and require reasoning. We have the tools for propagational and scientific attacks against the enemy. However, we act defensively, and in this regard, we need to reach a point where we take an aggressive approach against the enemies.”

“Propagation (of Islam) should not be limited to the months of Muharram and Ramadan but should be done continuously, and be carried out throughout the year by jurists, mujtahids, writers, and ethics teachers. Try to avoid providing repeated content. There have been many discussions about the “how” of the Ashura event. But in terms of “why” and how to adapt it to today’s deviations, as well as the way out of it, less work has been done,” added the General Secretary of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

Referring to the importance of getting to know the new methods of propagation, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “The old methods of propagation are not suitable for the present time and the new generation. Therefore, in order to present religious content, one should be familiar with modern methods, and take advantage of all of them. The presence of missionaries among the people and preaching face-to-face doubles the effect of the word. You will encounter attacks in your path, but you need to be patient, try, and raise your tolerance. Try to be in contact with people, calmly listen to their words, and if possible, transfer them to the relevant authorities. The result of these activities leads to scholarly and specialized demands of the clergy, which is a desirable type of demand.”

“From the beginning of becoming a clergy until now, I have been interested in Minbar and mourning ceremonies during Muharram, and I have seen many blessings from it. Personally, I consider Tabligh (propagation of Islam) a sacred matter. I wish success to you,” he said in the end.

It is worth mentioning that in this meeting, a report on the proposals and missionary-social activities of the clergy and clerics of Gilan province was presented to the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
