In a message, Hojat al-Islam Dr. Nabil Halbavi expressed his condolences on the demise of Ayatollah Mohsen Mojtahed Shabestari.

In a message, Hojat al-Islam Dr. Nabil Halbavi, Syrian member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and Friday prayer leader of the shrine of Hazrat Ruqayyah (a.s.) expresses his condolences on the demise of Ayatollah Mohsen Mojtahed Shabestari, member of the Supreme Council of the Assembly.

The English text of this message, which was originally issued in Arabic, is as follows:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

«مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا» (القرآن الکريم، سورة: الاحزاب، آیة: 23)

صدق الله العلي العظيم

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

(Among the faithful are men who fulfill what they have pledged to Allah: there are some among them who have fulfilled their pledge, and some of them who still wait, and they have not changed in the least,) (Holy Quran, Surah: Al-Ahzab, Verse: 23)

God Almighty has spoken the truth

I offer my condolences to Imam Mahdi (a.s.) and to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the Ulama of AhlulBayt (a.s.) school, AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, dear nation of Iran, and believers, on the demise of Ayatollah Sheikh Mohsen Mojtahed Shabestari.

He was one of the prominent symbols of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, one of the great Friday Imams, and a member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts in the Islamic Republic of Iran. May God reward his deeds and accompany him to His saints, the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and his pure AhlulBayt (a.s.) in Paradise.

I also express my condolences on this loss to the family, relatives, and enthusiasts of the deceased, and pray God to grant them patience and reward, and indeed He is the all-hearing and the all-responsive.

Member of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly

Ayatollah Mohsen Mojtahed Shabestari, a member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and one of the pioneers of jihad and ijtihad, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the age of 84.

He was one of the students of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and an activist of the Islamic Movement who, after the victory of the Revolution, held responsibilities such as representing the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

In 1994, Ayatollah Mojtahed Shabestari was elected as the Friday Imam of Tabriz by the Supreme Leader and held this serious responsibility until June 2017.

He was the former chairman of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the Friday prayer leader of Tabriz, a member of the Combatant Clergy Association, a representative of the people in the Assembly of Leadership Experts, and a member of the Expediency Council.
