In a message to Sheikh Zakzaky, Ayatollah Ramazani, Secretary- General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of his nephew in the attack of the Nigerian police forces.

The English translation of this message, which was originally issued in Arabic, is as follows:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ (قرآن کریم: سورة آل عمران، آیة: 169)

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

“Do not suppose those who were slain in the way of Allah to be dead; no, they are living and provided for near their Lord” (Holy Quran, Surah: Al Imran, Verse: 169)

Peace be upon you for your patience

With great sadness, we learned about the martyrdom of your dear nephew, martyr Mohsen Badamasi Zakzaky, as well as some other believers.

Those beloved ones sacrificed their dear lives to glorify the name of God in the mourning ceremony of the martyrdom of the lord of the nobles, Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his family and his companions.

On this terrible tragedy, we in the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly offer our most sincere condolences to our Master Imam Mahdi (a.s.), and also to you, the family of the martyrs and the Muslim nation of Nigeria.

May the martyrdom be pleasant for them, and heaven be their host; and humiliation and shame will remain on the face of the enemies of Islam and humanity.

We denounce the cowardly attack on mourning ceremony on the Day of Ashura, and the killing of these young believers and mujahids; and we ask the Nigerian government to take the necessary measures to ensure the security of the peaceful ceremony of the followers of AhlulBayt (a.s.), and to prosecute the perpetrators of this crime.

We also call on international organizations, Islamic governments, scholars of the Islamic world, and religious and cultural institutions to denounce these criminal actions and take the necessary measures to prevent these crimes from happening in the future.

We ask God to grant patience to you, my dear brother, and to the bereaved families, and to grant our beloved martyrs His satisfaction and paradise, and to unite them with the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and the AhlulBayt (a.s.).

انالله و انا الیه راجعون
