Secretary General of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly issued message on occasion of Nowruz

Last year the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly had changes in its executive and managerial arms. These changes could lead to a revision of the structures and replacement of the General Assembly members so that the Assembly, at the beginning of the fourth decade of its blessed activity, could address new demands of Shiites and the lovers of AhlAl-Bayt (a.s) worldwide.

On the occasion of Nowruz and start of 1399 SH, Iranian new year, Ayatollah Ramezani, Secretary General of the Ahl Al-Bayt World Assembly, issued a message to Shiites and Muslims worldwide.

Referring to the bitter events of 1398 SH, Ayatollah Ramezani also mentioned the great victories that achieved by the Muslims of the world.

Ayatollah Ramezani also mentioned the changes which took place in the Assembly last year, saying that by those changes in the structure and renovation in the general assembly, the organization seeks to properly address the new demands of the Shiites worldwide.

The full text of the message of the Secretary General of the Ahl Al-Bayt World Assembly is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

O’ Conqueror of hearts and sights
O’ Planner of night and day
O’ Transformer of power and conditions
Transform our condition to the best of conditions!

The year 1399, which is the new year in the solar calendar, coincides with the month of Rajab 1441 AH.

This year started with the name of Imam Musa ibn Ja'far al-Kadhim the 7th Shiite Imam (PBUH) whose martyrdom anniversary was on the first day of the year. This year is more blessed with Prophet Muhammad’s Bi'tha, one of the great eves of Islam, in the first days of it.

God willing these coincidences would guarantee blessing, love, and consideration of Prophet Muhammad and his Ahl Al-Bayt toward us and we hope for the sake of these sacred figures the closed doors would be opened for Islamic Ummah.

In 1398, (coincided with March 21, 2019 to March 19, 2020 and Rajab 14, 1440, to Rajab 24, 1441 AH) bitter and sweet events took place for Muslims and Shiites.

Apart from the natural disasters that are inevitable consequences of this mundane world, oppressed Muslims encountered many crises and troubles which were made by tyrants.

Crises in Iraq and Lebanon could be mentioned among those which provoked by foreign embassies to weaken the Axis of the Resistance.

The events which we have witnessed in Nigeria in recent years – illegal detention of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and his respected wife – continued in the past year (1398 SH); the events which led to martyrdom of some of Sheikh’s companions.

The other disaster which took place last year was the cowardly assassination of two great Iranian and Iraqi figures, martyr Major General Qassem Soleimani and Martyr Jamal Jafar Ibrahim (Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis) and their escorts. The terrorist act of Trump’s regime although was bitter but empowered Islamic values all over the world. Funeral procession of these two dear martyrs in eight cities of two countries and then Iraqi parliament vote in favor of expelling U.S. occupier troops and consequently mass demonstration by Iraqis in Baghdad to protect that vote, were great epics which showed the world the Iranian and Iraqi nations’ resistance.

The continuation of the oppression against Muslims and Shiites in different countries such as assassinations in Afghanistan and Pakistan, dire situation of Bahraini inmates, mass executions in Saudi Arabia, aggression and constant killing of innocent people in Yemen, Israel’s violence and occupation in Palestine and illegal detention of Mr. Sayyed Ahmad Sambi in Comoros; all in all continue to defame the face of the world and those who claim to defend human rights.

What happened in the middle of last year in Kashmir and at the end of the year in India – especially in New Delhi – also made Muslims heavy-hearted worldwide.

The last disaster which Muslims and all people of the world faced in the last year (1298 SH) has been the outbreak of new coronavirus (Covid-19) which has engaged thousands around the world.

Meanwhile, the continuation of the illegal and oppressive sanctions against Iranian hero nation by the criminal United States, were among dire problems of the last year. The cowardness of the Great Satan has even continued in recent emergency health care situation and extensive sanctions on medicine and medical care have more than ever shown the atrocities of the arrogance and colonialism for the world.

But Muslims achieved significant victories despite these bitter events:

People epic and fervent presence in Ashura and Arbaeen rituals which human dimension of them is revealing year by year; breaking down the arrogance of the US by targeting its surveillance aircraft and Ain al-Assad airbase in Iraq; firmly rejecting so-called Zionist “the Deal of the Century” by most of the Muslims worldwide; significant victories of Yemeni popular resistance against full-armed aggressor coalition; vigilance of the Islamic Resistance groups in Iraq and Lebanon against conspiracies; more areas in Syria cleaned from terrorists; determination of the international resistance front with the mass funeral procession of martyr General Qasim Soleimani; and scientific and technologic achievements of Muslim scientists were among the sweet events happened last year.

Iranian Parliament election and people’s mass participation were other bright points of the last year. Participating in the election, wise and insightful Iranian people determined their political path so despite all pressures and shortages make the society hopeful. Meanwhile, hostile media outlets and channels, using their enormous budget, tried to show the Islamic System inefficient and by making people disappointed they wanted to prevent people to vote.

The picturesque scenes of self-sacrifice and the dedication of health advocates – from doctors, nurses, and all the medical staff to the Jihadi and volunteer forces – at the forefront of the fight against the coronavirus also created another bright season for our society.

In the year which passed, all these bitter and sweet events were divine testing and examinations, which according to the divine tradition, will be continued and the followers of the Ahl Al-Bayt (a.s) should pass those examinations successfully to prepare the world for the emergence of Imam Mahdi and establishing justice.

Last year the Ahl Al-Bayt World Assembly has had changes in its executive and managerial arms. These changes could lead to a revision of the structures and replacement of the General Assembly members so that the Assembly, at the beginning of the fourth decade of its blessed activity, could address new demands of Shiites and the lovers of Ahl Al-Bayt (a.s) worldwide.

Here, once again, I should appreciate the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution for his eminence trust to me and entrusting the great responsibility of serving followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (a.s). I assure his eminence that with jihadi (volunteer) and sincere work, all parts of the organization are on the path of evolution, and as the Supreme Leader mentioned in the order of appointment, the Assembly will continue to move forward in spreading the teachings of pure Islam and try to unify of the Islamic Ummah.

I also should sincerely appreciate all honorable members of the Higher Council, General Assembly, regional assemblies, cultural centers affiliated with the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly in different parts of the world as well as my colleagues in headquarters who despite all the limitations and difficulties, dedicated to promoting the Assembly's activities to develop the intellectual, cultural and social progress of the followers of Ahl al-Bayt.

In the end, congratulating blessed time of spring, I wish 1399 be the year of sympathy, kindness, blooming of the kind emotions and (peaceful) coexistence and by the grace of God and with the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, we would witness the “surge in production” and disgrace of sworn enemies of Islam and Iran and then a new century of the glory and esteem of Islam would emerge after current hardships as (God the exalted says in Quran says) “For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease” (94:5) and “Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near” (2:214).

And “Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds”

Western intelligence services behind divisive anti-Muslims plots in India

Member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Mohsen Araki said that the intelligence services of the “evil triangle–Britain, the US, and Zionist regime” – are fomenting anti-Muslims emotions among different religious groups in India.

“Today, the intelligence services of the evil triangle - Britain, US, and Zionist regime - are the main cause of divisions in Indian society,” Ayatollah Araki said in a statement referring to the recent eruption of violence against Muslims in India.

“The killing of Muslims by some ignorant fanatics in India as a result of the discriminatory and divisive policies of some Indian politicians has caused great concern on Islamic society and other human societies,” he added, saying, “The recently adopted citizenship law in India has also been fostered and supported by this vicious triangle, and otherwise the Indian community, with all its sectarian and religious diversity, is a peaceful society.”

He also called for the Indian government not to be deceived by intelligence services and strongly urged the Muslim leaders of India to maintain unity and peace.

Last month, in the worst communal violence in decades in New Delhi, nearly 50 people were killed and over 100 wounded as groups chanting Hindu nationalist slogans torched mosques and dozens of Muslim houses.

Last month’s worst anti-Muslim violence by Hindu nationalists began on the eve of a state visit by US President Donald Trump, infamous for his anti-Muslim rhetoric and policies.

Anti-Muslim violence started in India amid widespread protests over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist government introduced in December, offering a path to Indian citizenship for six religious groups from neighboring countries, specifically excluding Muslims.

Critics insist the law is discriminatory, coming in the wake of other severe government measures against the country’s Muslim population such as withdrawal of autonomy for Muslim-majority Jammu and Kashmir province that has intensified discord across India about the future of its 200 million Muslims.

Last Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif condemned the outburst of violence against Indian Muslims, urging New Delhi to protect all of its citizens regardless of their faith and ethnicity.

“Iran condemns the wave of organized violence against Indian Muslims,” Zarif said in a tweet, while highlighting amicable relations between Tehran and New Delhi.

“For centuries, Iran has been a friend of India,” he said, adding, “We urge Indian authorities to ensure the wellbeing of ALL Indians & not let senseless thuggery prevail.”

“Path forward lies in peaceful dialogue and rule of law,” Zarif concluded.

Before Zarif, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi voiced his country’s serious concern about the rising atrocities against Muslims in India, adding that Tehran is consistently following up the case.

“We are following the news coming from India with concern,” Mousavi said in his weekly presser.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is following up on the issue through many channels and we have heard that some Muslim countries have had some movements.”

“We know India as a country where all ethnicities and religions live peacefully side by side,” he said, adding, “We hope that violence against Muslims in India would come to an end.”

“Considering the wisdom of Indian authorities that we are aware of, the country will become a peaceful place for all ethnicities,” he said.

Ayatollah Akhtari urges int'l community to take responsibilities over Bahraini crisis

Sunday, 12 March 2017
(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Following the approach of Sheikh Isa Qasim’s trial by Al-Khalifa regime Secretary General of the AhlulBayt World Assembly Ayatollah Muhammad Hasan Akhtari has written a letter to High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.

Part of the letter: “Unfortunately, the international community has not given the Bahraini crisis due attention and the criticism is valid that this ongoing violation of human rights and the intensification of the suppression of the protestors in Bahrain is happening in the silence and neglect of the international community and due to the support of certain countries.”

Full text of the letter is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Mr. Antonio Guterres
Secretary-General of the United Nations

As you know, Bahrain has fallen into a social-political crisis since the start of peaceful protests on February 14, 2011. The crisis has not only continued, it has complicated due to the regimes hostile approach towards the issue.

Bahrain currently has the highest number of political prisoners in the region despite it being the smallest and least populated country in the region. Four thousand people have been imprisoned and are being tortured physically and psychologically for protesting the status quo in their country. This has led to international legal bodies including the Human Rights Watch and the United States’ Department of State to warn against the human rights situation in Bahrain.

Since the begin in of the crisis, the Bahraini government has tried to paint the demands of its people for their civil rights as sectarian. The destruction of tens of mosques and places of worship for fabricated accusations; preventing and limiting religious ceremonies; removing religious symbols which are deeply routed in the history and culture of the Bahraini people; the summoning of numerous scholars and preachers; arranged court cases and imprisoning religious and political leaders respected by the masses; preventing 120 clerics from delivering religious speeches; and in their latest attempt interfering in Islamic rulings and revoking the citizenship of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qasim, the religious leader of the Shias of Bahrain are some of the measures taken by the regime in Bahrain against the national identity and religious belief of the dominant majority of its population. A majority who, despite having the strongest routs in Bahrain, have minimal civil rights.

Despite the repeated recommendations of the international community for reform, the halt of human rights violations and returning to a political dialog to resolve differences, the Bahraini regime has not only not paid any head to fulfilling these recommendations but has made conditions worse than ever before. Although the Bahraini governments vows to adhere to international conventions, the recommendations of the UNHRC in Geneva and the independent fact-finding committee lead by Dr. Basyouni have been neglected and except for ineffective and superficial measures no positive change has occurred in Bahrain.

Revoking the citizenship of over 250 Bahraini citizens over dubious charges, which is in violation of articles 15 of the UDHR which states that “everyone has the right to a nationality,” and that “no one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality”; arresting and prosecuting human rights activists; preventing free speech and religion; banning peaceful congregations; arbitrary detentions; and preventing protestors and victims of human rights violations from leaving the country are all showing the continued systematic violation of human rights in

Your Excellency!

The Bahraini government has tried Sheikh Isa Qassim in his absence and without any defense for “money laundering” and will give its final verdict on March 14.  It is predicted that he will be deported/exiled before the sentencing.

This is happening while we see a sixth year of an illegal occupation of Bahrain by Saudi armed forces. The military forces known as the Peninsula Shield Force attacked this country and, in addition to suppressing the peaceful protests and terrorizing the defenseless people, it has arrested many human rights activists and dissolved political organizations and social institutions. This unfortunate behavior by an alien occupying force has continued up to date.

Unfortunately, the international community has not given the Bahraini crisis due attention and the criticism is valid that this ongoing violation of human rights and the intensification of the suppression of the protestors in Bahrain is happening in the silence and neglect of the international community and due to the support of certain countries.

The fact that the peaceful protest of the Bahraini people has not bared any cost on the international community should not cause neglect towards the crisis. It is feared that the Bahraini government may take actions under international disregard that will cause the protest to no longer be peaceful.

The Bahraini regime is attacking the identity, beliefs, and rites of the majority of the Bahraini society and the inevitable result of that is nothing but sectarian conflict. Without a doubt, such a conflict will not be limited to the national borders of Bahrain but will bear regional consequences.

Mr. Guterres!

It is expected that the international community takes its responsibilities as per the charter of the United Nations and various international conventions seriously. That is, that by having an accurate understanding of the crisis in Bahrain and its consequences including a lasting sectarian conflict in Bahrain and the region, and in order to prevent systematic violation of human rights as well as religious and sectarian persecution and to preserve international peace and security, the international community must act based on its responsibilities in order that the opportunity for peaceful reform in Bahrain is not lost.

Considering the ongoing trend and the possible raid against Sheikh Isa Qassim who has had a very positive role in preventing violence and extremism in Bahrain, it is of utmost importance that the necessary measures are taken to prevent any such raid and to ensure in his prosecution he is granted his full rights and that his citizenship is reinstated with hast.

Mr. Secretary-General!

The AhlulBayt World Assembly, as an NGO which is active in social, cultural, propagational, human, and religious matters, and which has over 300 million followers of the Household of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and them) under its coverage, is hereby warning the international community against the suppression conducted by the Al Khalifa regime in Bahrain.

These actions will lead to the increase of violence in that country and will have catastrophic results.

We believe any aggressive action against the religious leader of the Muslims in Bahrain, his eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, especially the unwise decision to exile or imprison him will lead to tension and bloodshed in that country.

It is thus deemed necessary that your respected self, the High Representative of the European Union of Foreign Affairs, take effective preventive action before March 14 and advise the Bahraini government to ensure security, peace and stability in the region by accepting democracy, respecting civil rights, and granting the Bahraini people the right to vote.

It is evident that the continuation of the current approach will cause the situation to intensify and will have no outcome other than the change in approach by the people in their protests and this will lead to an obscure outlook for Bahrain and the region.  We emphasize that any form of neglect and lack of appropriate and timed action could lead to a human catastrophe and cause bloodshed towards people. Thus, we request for you to take immediate action.

Muhammad Hasan Akhtari
Secretary General of the AhlulBayt World Assembly
