In a message, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly expressed his condolences on the demise of Sheikh Afif Nabulsi, the head of the Ulama Council of Jabal Amil in Lebanon.

ABWA Official Website – In a message to Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah, Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, expressed his condolences on the demise of Mujahid Allameh Ayatollah Afif Nabulsi, one of Lebanon’s prominent Shiite ulama. 

The message reads in part, “Allameh Nabulsi, a member of the Society of Lebanese Muslim Ulama, was one of the standard bearers of the heroic Resistance Front against the enemies, most importantly, the Zionist usurper enemy.”

The statement that was originally issued in Arabic is as follows:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Esteemed brother, Mujahid Allameh Sayed Hasan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah and member of the Supreme Council of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly

Salam (Peace) be upon you.

I offer my most sincere condolences to you on the demise of the great Allamah Sheikh Afif Nabulsi.

Allamah Nabulsi was one of the active ulama who chaired the Ulama Council of Jabal Amil and was a sincere believer, scholar, jurist, and a person of jihad and martyrdom, who called for unity and solidarity among the Islamic Ummah. A member of the Society of Lebanese Muslim Ulama was one of the standard bearers of the heroic Resistance Front against the enemies, most importantly, the Zionist usurper enemy.

On my behalf, and on behalf of the esteemed ulama members of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, I offer my condolences on this irreparable loss to Imam Mahdi (a.s.), Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the world Muslims, to you, and the honorable family and relatives of Allameh Nabulsi. I ask God for a high place in heaven and reunion with the righteous for that distinguished scholar, and patience for his bereaved family and relatives.

In the end, I ask God to extend your blissful life, to make your steps firm, and to give you success to serve Islam, the Islamic Ummah, and humanity even more.

It is worth noting that Ayatollah Afif Nabulsi, head of the Jebel Amel Ulema Board, Friday prayer leader of Saida, and a long-time friend of Imam Musa Sadr, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2023, after enduring years of illness. A prominent Lebanese Shiite, he was one of the defenders of the Resistance, and one of the comrades of martyrs Sheikh Ragheb Harb and Sayed Abbas Mousavi.
