Ayatollah Khosroshahi, scientific tolerant figure: Molawi Salami

To commemorate the second anniversary of the demise of Ayatollah Sayed Hadi Khosroshahi, the webinar “Man of Approximation Square” was held on Sunday evening, February 20, 2022, by the Office for Iran Affairs of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, in cooperation with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and similar institutions.

In this webinar, Molawi Nazir Ahmad Salami, a member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts and a member of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, stated, “Ayatollah Khosroshahi was a very prominent figure and one of the scholars.”

“In 1966, while studying in Pakistan, I became acquainted with him through his writings. At that time, I was going to the House of Iranian Culture in Karachi to study and learn Persian. There I saw the magazine of the School of Islam that was published in Qom. By reading the magazine, I was attracted to the writings of Ayatollah Sayed Hadi Khosroshahi. After that, I constantly read every issue of the School of Islam magazine that came there. My impression was that he was a valuable man and a pro proximity (between Islamic denominations) figure whose information and writings can be used to establish unity between the Islamic Ummah and the elimination of ignorant prejudices,” Molawi Salami said.

“As long as I was in Pakistan, and until the victory of the Islamic Revolution, I always went to the House of Iranian Culture. By reading his writings, my acquaintance with the thoughts and writings of Ayatollah Khosroshahi increased day by day. Later, when I came to Iran, I was a member of the Assembly of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in Tehran. Because I was teaching at the University of Islamic Denominations, I had several meetings with him, and I benefited from his speeches,” he continued.

“Ayatollah Khosroshahi was a was a scientific, unbiased and tolerant figure. If we had more such people in the society, they would have contributed a lot to the Islamic unity,” Nazir Ahmad Salami said.

“Ayatollah Khosroshahi has passed away, but his thoughts and ideas about the unity of the ummah, tolerance of others and patience remain. Supporters of the proximity of Islamic denominations and people who are far from ignorant prejudices can use his writings and benefit from his thoughts on the unity of the Islamic Ummah. May God reunite him with his prophets and saints and raise him to a high position in the Hereafter,” he added.
