Sultan al-Waezin Shirazi aware of requirements of his time: Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri

The head of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said, “The late Sultan al-Waezin Shirazi was aware of the requirements of his time and had appropriate studies in accordance with them in order to use his studies in necessary situations.”

To commemorate the late Sultan Al-Waezin Shirazi, one of the Mujahed Ulama, the conference “Awakeners 3” was held on February 28, 2022, in in the Ghadir Conference Hall in Qom by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and related institutions.

In this conference, in an interview with reporters, referring to the 50th anniversary of this jihadi scientist, Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Hosseini Bushehri, the head of the Qom Seminary Teachers Association, said, “Since 1971 and the demise of the Sultan Al-Waezin Shirazi, unfortunately, no proper commemoration has been held in his honor, and the reason for this is still not clear to us.”

“Holding a commemoration for the late Shirazi was an interesting initiative. The late Sayed Mohammad Ashrafi Shirazi, known as the Sultan Al-Waezin Shirazi, was a scholar, orator, master of debating, and had extensive studies in various fields. He was a prominent figure of his time, both in the face of various Islamic denominations and in the face of other religions and schools,” he stated.

“The late Sultan al-Waezin Shirazi was educated in Najaf and Qom. He was aware of the requirements of his time and had appropriate studies in accordance with them in order to use his studies in necessary situations,” Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri continued.

“In the debates that he had in India that day (Pakistan today), he was able to formulate debates and handle them, largely thanks to his strong studies and memory, without having a substantial book at his disposal,” added the head of the Qom Seminary Teachers Association, referring to the book “Defender of the Velayat”, which is a brief biography of the late Sultan al-Waezin Shirazi.

“The debates of the late Sultan Shirazi, using his memory and studies, have a great message for our world today. The message is that instead of disagreeing, we should argue logically, and instead of quarrels between Shiites and Sunnis, the scholars of these two denominations should come together and present the discussions in a logical and principled manner, based on solid and documented evidence. This will really bring peace to the Islamic world and there will cause no problem for Islam,” he clarified.

“By scientific discussions, dialogue and debate, Shiite and Sunni scholars can prevent the abuse of their common enemy,” stated Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri.

“Shiites and Sunnis should know that their enemies have no good intentions,” he emphasized in the end.
