The Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, at the beginning of his tenure in the Assembly, met and talked with sources of emulation.
As part of the program, on Saturday morning, September 14, 2019, he and his accompanying delegation met Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani, a Shiite source of emulation.
“Today the world is aware of the AhlulBayt (a.s.)”, Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani, emphasized in the meeting, and addressed the new Secretary General of the Assembly, “You should appreciate this opportunity and try to introduce the teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and Shiite scriptures - such as Nahj al-Balaghah and Sahifa al-Sajadiyya- to the world.”
“We (Shiites) have a lot of teachings, but we have failed to introduce them. You have to introduce this knowledge to the world with a new expression. Your position in the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly is high and you should work in this field around the clock”, Ayatollah Safi Added.
“We should also introduce personalities such as Amir al-Mo’menin (a.s.), Imam Hassan (a.s.), Imam Hussein (a.s.), Imam Sajjad (a.s.) and other pure Imams (a.s.) as well as Imam Mahdi (a.s.); and these matters are the duty of those like you”, the source of emulation continued.
Referring to the doubts that are raised on Islam and Shiism in the world, Ayatollah Safi said, “Try to listen to the people of the world and try to respond (properly) to them. Non-Muslims should be spoken to gently and then invited to Islam and the Quran. In this case, they are usually attracted.”
“I have already said that not holding such a conference to honor Abu Talib (a.s.) is a great defect. It is necessary to hold the conference and it should be heard in the world”, referring to the programs of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Ayatollah Safi noted.
Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani wished success to Mr. Ramazani in his new position and concluded, “We pray for you.”
At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly expressed his gratitude for the meeting and said, “Thank you for accepting me and my friends - who are the servants of the followers of AhlulBayt (a.s.) in the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly. I also thank God for the success of serving the servants of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) in the assembly.”
Then, Ayatollah Ramazani presented a brief report on the activities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and listed the following as the activities of the Assembly:
- Communication with Shiites and followers of AhlulBayt (a.s.) in more than 140 countries,
- Establishment of the Assembly Representative Office in more than 80 countries,
- Communication with 110 cultural NGOs from different countries,
- Connection with more than 3,000 indigenous Shiite missionaries,
- Translation and publication of more than 2000 book titles in 58 world languages,
- Launching popular websites (such as ABNA News Agency and the WikiShia Encyclopedia) in multiple languages, and
- Holding courses in Shiite studies, al-Mahdawiah, answering doubts, etc. in different countries of the world.
