AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of Syria condoled the deadly earthquake in the country
In a statement, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of Syria emphasized the importance of the solidarity of the Syrian nation in hardships, including the recent earthquake in the country.
ABWA Official Website – In a statement, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of Syria expressed its condolences on the death of a group of Syrian people who died in the earthquake.
In this statement, AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of Syria highlighted the endurance, stability, and solidarity of the Syrian nation in hardships, including the recent earthquake in different regions of the country.
The English version of this statement, which was originally issued in Arabic, is as follows:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
In a hadith, Imam Sadeq (a.s.) stated that if God loves a servant, He immerses him in calamity.
After the earthquake disaster in many provinces of dear Syria, the Syrian patient nation once again showed its endurance, stability, and solidarity in hardships and tribulations.
According to traditions, the occurrence of earthquakes is one of the signs before the Reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.s.), and with his arrival, humanity will be saved. We hope that the Reappearance of that Imam (a.s.) will be hastened.
Also, without any doubt, this calamity brings with it preaching, mentioning, and repentance to God. According to a narration, earthquakes and other natural disasters are to prevent people from being oblivious, so that they are alert, feared, and avoid sin and corruption [by understanding their own weakness and the Creator’s power].
In the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of Syria, we offer our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, and we ask the Almighty God to place the victims of this earthquake in the highest positions, and grant healing to the injured, and hasten the Reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.s.).

It is worth mentioning that on Monday morning, February 6, 2023, different regions of Syria witnessed a devastating earthquake that resulted in the death of about a thousand citizens of this country. /345/
