Ayatollah Ramazani in a meeting with Sheikh Zakzaky: You are a true example of “Mujahid in the path of Allah”
In a meeting with Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “I always wanted to meet you, and I have a heart for you. You are one of the most effective people in calling for spirituality and rationality. It is a great honor for you that you were one of the great soldiers of the two Imams of the Islamic Revolution.”
ABWA Official Website – On Monday, December 18, 2023, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly met and talked with Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria.
In this sincere meeting, which was attended by Hojat al-Islam Moinian, deputy for international affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and Hojat al-Islam Qazavi, deputy for the development of management and resources of the Assembly, Ayatollah Ramazani expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and referred to the days when Sheikh was subjected to brutal attacks and imprisoned, called Sheikh a prisoner reformer.
Calling the meeting with Sheikh Zakzaky and his family a source of pleasure, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “I always wanted to meet you, and I have a heart for you. You are one of the most effective people in calling for spirituality and rationality. It is a great honor for you that you were one of the great soldiers of the two Imams of the Islamic Revolution.”
While honoring the efforts and struggles of Sheikh Zakzaky in Nigeria to spread the Shiite culture, Ayatollah Ramazani considered Sheikh as the true example of a mujahid in the way of God and expressed hope that his efforts and the path will continue.
“Significant events are happening in the world. Islamic Revolution of Iran will lead to the Revolution of Imam Mahdi (a.s.), and God willing, Mahdavi justice is not far away,” said the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
Further in this meeting, Ayatollah Ramazani explained some of the activities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and said, “The Assembly has various departments, among which we can mention WikiShia encyclopedia in 22 languages, AhlulBayt (a.s.) News Agency - ABNA - in 27 languages, Al-Thaqalayn satellite TV, and AhlulBayt (a.s.) International University, where students from 29 nationalities study.”
Also, referring to the unveiling ceremony of the recent charters of the World Assembly of Ahl al-Bayt (AS), the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, stated, “In the coming days, 110 books in 22 languages as well as 5 audiobooks will be unveiled. A few weeks later, the unveiling ceremony of 33 books in Persian and Arabic about Hazrat AbuTalib (a.s.) will be held. This is an unprecedented activity, and we are trying to have one of the sources of emulation attend this event.”
“At present, local missionaries are cooperating with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, some of them are from the African continent, and this is a great capacity and an auspicious opportunity. Many developments have taken place in various sections of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and it has become more active. Also, local assemblies have become more active in different countries of the world,” he said.
The Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly also honored the sacrifices of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky’s wife and prayed to God Almighty for health for this Mujahid lady.
Further in this meeting, Hojat al-Islam Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky expressed his satisfaction with meeting with Ayatollah Ramazani and referring to the mission of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “The Assembly was established to support Shiites in various dimensions, especially in the field of promoting AhlulBayt (a.s.) school. Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school was unknown to us. At that time, Shiites were considered to have deviant thoughts! In 1973, when I was a university student, a professor was speaking in class about the beliefs of Shiites and claimed that the things that Muslims consider haram, Shiites consider halal! Imagine what a Muslim feels or thinks when hears such things.”
“After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Muslims in Nigeria were strongly influenced by the Revolution, and the Istbasar movement was born in the country. But the enemies in Nigeria started anti-Shiite propaganda and made baseless accusations against us about insulting the Companions and some of the wives of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), which intensified especially after the Zaria incident,” he continued.
“In the Zaria incident, they sought to annihilate us Shiites in Nigeria. But God’s destiny was for us to remain and for the Islamic call to spread more and more strongly. They made the Nigerian Islamic movement stronger than it was. We are now stronger than ever because of our endurance and our numbers. The number of Shiites in Nigeria has multiplied, and our activities continued. These days we commemorated the 8th anniversary of the Zaria incident, which coincided with the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Zahra (a.s.), and large crowds in various cities of Nigeria came to the streets on this occasion,” added the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria.
Referring to his rescue from the Zaria incident, Sheikh Zakzaky said, “In that incident, my wife and I were directly shot by military forces. On the day of the incident, I saw many miracles, and even though they burned my house and shot me with live bullets, I was destined to survive. I saw with my own eyes that my bones were torn apart and the bullet entered my eyes. But I didn’t feel any pain. From that day, there are still bullets in my body, especially in my head. During the past years, 6 of my children were martyred, and only one son and two daughters remain.”
While expressing his gratitude for the efforts of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly to defend the Shiites of Nigeria, the Secretary General of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria stated, “I would like to thank the Assembly for being with us since the beginning of the Zaria incident. The situation is ready for the Reappearance (of Imam Mahdi (a.s.)) and you are paving the way for it. Everything I did was by the grace of God, and I didn’t do anything that was considered a symbol for spreading Shia.”
At the end of this meeting, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly presented a decorated flag with the name of Imam Mahdi (a.s.) to Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and appreciated the efforts of this great Shiite scholar.
