The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly called on the world community, Arab and Islamic countries, and friends in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to fulfill the duty of brotherhood and friendship in this regard, and also respect the great Islamic interests, the principles of unity, brotherhood, and the common destiny of the ummah and the region.

ABWA Official Website – The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly issued a statement about the execution of Shiite activists by Saudi Arabia.

The statement is as follows:

بسم‌الله‌الرحمن‌الرحیم

«إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الْأَمَانَاتِ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهَا وَإِذَا حَكَمْتُمْ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ أَنْ تَحْكُمُوا بِالْعَدْلِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ نِعِمَّا يَعِظُكُمْ بِهِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا»

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Indeed Allah commands you to deliver the trusts to their [rightful] owners, and to judge with fairness when you judge between people. Excellent indeed is what Allah advises you. Indeed Allah is all-hearing, all-seeing. (Holy Quran, Surah: An-Nisa, Verse: 58)

With extreme regret, the execution cases of detainees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school, continue, and this issue has deepened their wounds, and created a dangerous record of violating the rights of prisoners, accused and convicted.

While expressing its sympathy with the families of the deceased, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly calls for respect for the rights of all citizens, and the granting of legal and human freedoms, including freedom of belief, following and practicing religious and divine rules based on religion, and performing rituals, rites, and their religious ceremonies.

Also, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly calls for a fair trial, guaranteeing the rights of detainees and not putting them under pressure, respecting the right to have lawyers and punishment commensurate with the crime (if the accused have really committed a crime), and not issuing arbitrary sentences. Although, according to some reports, these judicial rulings are applied against legal standards and human rights.

Those who are concerned about the preservation of the unity of the Islamic Ummah and the return of its glory in achieving progress and prosperity, believe that these actions are contrary to the country where the Qiblah of Muslims, the place of revelation and the tomb of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), are located. These actions are also contrary to the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve the development it is promoting, which requires reconciliation, stability, and improvement of the country’s image.

The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly called on the world community, Arab and Islamic countries, and friends in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to fulfill the duty of brotherhood and friendship in this regard, and also respect the great Islamic interests, the principles of unity, brotherhood, and the common destiny of the ummah and the region. The Assembly also calls on them to urge the Land of the Two Holy Shrines officials to cease the execution rulings and respect the basic rights and freedoms, to achieve felicity in the world and hereafter.
