The measures of Maytham al-Tammar Mausoleum in Kufa, Iraq to serve Arbaeen 2022 pilgrims

The head of the media department of Maytham al-Tammar Mausoleum in Kufa stated, “In addition to providing three meals a day for Arbaeen pilgrims, places have been prepared for them to rest.”

The mausoleum of the great companion of the Prophet (p.b.u.h), Maytham al-Tammar, in the city of Kufa, Iraq, is one of the places of interest for pilgrims during the days of Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (a.s.).

In an interview with ABNA reporter, Ali Asadi, the head of the media department of Maytham al-Tammar mausoleum, said, “The authorities of Maytham al-Tammar mausoleum have designed an annual program for serving during the Arbaeen days, and in addition to distributing food and providing places to rest, they include programs on Quranic, jurisprudential, religious, moral, educational and guidance issues, to provide exemplary services for pilgrims. Arbaeen pilgrimage is one of the religious rituals that pilgrims should take advantage of in the best way.”

“Among the other measures taken by the custodian office of the Maytham al-Tammar mausoleum is the establishment of stations to answer religious questions, in cooperation with the Najaf seminary and Iranian clerics. At these stations pilgrims’ questions are answered. Also, during Arbaeen days, lectures are held daily about the Arbaeen pilgrimage and its goals. The custodian office of the Maytham al-Tammar mausoleum participated in the project of Najaf Seminary during the Arbaeen pilgrimage and set up Quranic stations for men and women inside and outside this mausoleum to correct the Quranic recitations of the pilgrims,” he added.

“In addition to providing three meals a day for Arbaeen pilgrims, places have been prepared for them to rest. Also, the officials of Maytham al-Tammar mausoleum are making the necessary arrangements with security forces to ensure the safety of Iraqi and foreign Arbaeen pilgrims. To serve the Arbaeen pilgrims, honorary servants work in the Maytham al-Tammar mausoleum,” added the head of media department of Maytham al-Tammar mausoleum.

Referring to the way of management in Maytham al-Tammar mausoleum, Asadi stated, “Various changes have been made in the management of this mausoleum. Each of those who have served as the custodian of the charge of Maytham al-Tammar mausoleum, have offered great things and have made changes for the benefit of the mausoleum. After resignation of every previous custodian, other people took this responsibility and did more work.”

“With the selection of Mr. Adel al-Jafari as the custodian of the mausoleum of the great Companion of the Prophet (p.b.u.h), Maytham bin Yahya al- Tammar, many changes took place in the administration of this mausoleum. Among them, in addition to holding cultural, ideological, and Quranic courses, we can mention the opening of doors and excellent coordination with security agencies and service institutions and offices,” he mentioned.
