Arbaeen great divine convention for all religions, nations/Imam Hussein (a.s.) belongs to all humanity: Ayatollah Ramazani
Considering Arbaeen as a great divine convention for all religions and nations, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, said, “For Arbaeen, unfortunately, we are facing a news boycott, and some media outlets fail to cover the spirituality, love, self-sacrifice, and affection of the Arbaeen Hosseini walk.”
The opening ceremony of Arbaeen Hosseini’s official activities in Latin America was held on Sunday morning, September 19, 2021, with the speech of the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
While offering his condolences for the days of mourning for Imam Hussain (a.s.) and Arbaeen, and appreciating the establishment of the Arbaeen headquarters in Latin America, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani said, “I appreciate you for starting a valuable work and forming a headquarters called Arbaeen with the slogan “Service and Hope”.”
“I hope that by using the capacity set in Latin America, the members of Arbaeen headquarters will be able to get to know each other better and provide a platform for interaction, understanding, and synergy,” he said, expressing hope that the activity of Arbaeen headquarters should be seriously and actively pursued throughout the year.
“Arbaeen should be considered as the largest convention of Muslims. Imam Hussain (a.s.) belongs to all nations and all religions. He is the teacher and educator of the freedmen. There are important lessons of seeking justice, confronting authoritarianism and oppression, enjoining the good and forbidding the evil in the teachings of Imam Hussain (a.s.),” emphasized the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.
“Imam Hussain (a.s.) belongs not only to the Shiites, but to all Muslims; he belongs not only to Muslims, but to all followers of the Abrahamic religions, and also he belongs not only to all followers of the Abrahamic religions, but to all human beings, and this is a global and international capacity,” continued Ayatollah Ramazani.
“Understanding this capacity is very important and should be studied and researched, and once the capacities are properly understood, we will be able to understand this event more comprehensively and accurately,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to the various dimensions of Arbaeen Hosseini.
“Ashura and what happened up to Arbaeen (forty days after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his companions in Karbala) in the year 61 AH, shows the most emotional truth. There can be no more emotional flow and movement than Ashura and Arbaeen. These feelings and emotions have been passed down from generation to generation,” he clarified, considering emotional capacity as one of the Arbaeen capacities.
“During 1400 years, the uprising of Sayyid al-Shuhada (a.s.) has created a great internal transformation and revolution; a large number of people gather in (Iraq) to pay their tribute (to Imam Hussein (a.s.) and his family and companions) and spend their lives and property to keep Ashura and Arbaeen alive. This great glory increases year by year in the Arbaeen ceremony,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.
Referring to the pandemic of the evil Covid-19 virus, which has outbroken the world, and deprived many people of the opportunity to participate in the Arbaeen Walk, the member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts expressed, “May God Almighty remove this calamity from human society so that Muslims and non-Muslims with a population of 20 million and more can participate in Arbaeen Walk.”
“We can see high spirituality during the Arbaeen Walk in Najaf and Karbala. Worship, mentioning the sufferings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), prayers, paying attention to the ideals of Imam Hussain (a.s.), the teachings of Ashura, and many other issues are quite evident in Arbaeen Walk. You can see the most beautiful service in Arbaeen,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to the spiritual aspect as another achievement of the Arbaeen movement.

Referring to the phrase, “بَذَلَ مُهْجَتَهُ فِيكَ لِيَسْتَنْقِذَ عِبَادَكَ مِنَ الْجَهَالَةِ وَ حَيْرَةِ الضَّلالَةِ” ((O’God) He (Imam Hussein (a.s.)) sacrificed his life in your way, to save your servants from ignorance and wandering misguidance) from the Arbaeen pilgrimage letter, Ayatollah Ramazani added, “Imam Hussein (a.s.) sacrificed the blood of his heart in the way of God and saved the people from ignorance. The Arbaeen pilgrimage letter reads: “Some authoritarians, worldly and ambitious people stood up the best of human beings. They behead the “Imam of the society” and the “Guardian of God” and put it on the spear. Less than 30 years after the demise of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), the enemies placed the silent Quran on a spear (referring to the Battle of Siffin between Muawiyah and Imam Ali (a.s.)), and 50 years later, they put the “speaking Quran” (Imam Hussain (a.s.)) on a spear.” All of these events were due to the ignorance of the society.”
“Arbaeen bestowed awakening and multidimensional awareness to human society: awakening in the emotional, spiritual, cultural and political dimensions,” Ayatollah Ramazani said, referring to the spiritual, justice, cultural and political aspects of Arbaeen.
“From the mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein (a.s.) and Arbaeen, one should learn the lessons of monotheism, seeking justice, and confronting authoritarianism. In his analysis of the Husseini movement, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) said, “Weeping for Imam Hussein (a.s.) should have a political and reformist aspect”,” he said.
